Part of the Gilde aquavit serie for traditional Norwegian food. Gilde aquavit is known for "In companionship with Norwegian food traditions since 1953". This is a to specialiced aquavit for salty traditional cured meat of sheep (smala). The taste is rich with caraway and a small hint of citrus, it gives a strong and flavorful aquavit that goes perfectly with the salty meat. Aging in sherry casks rounds off the flavor and gives a sweetness that harmonizes well with classic accompaniments such as turnip paste and dark beer.
The dish with cured meat for this qauavit is largely associated with the celebration of Christmas. The design was solved to give the richness with details for tradition, and handcrafted and premium overall expression.
